Seduce yourself with yoga

Seduce Yourself With Yoga

A cancer diagnosis does not mean you should put your life on hold and stop exercising. On the contrary, feeling and appearing physical fit is just as vital to experiencing a remission or complete recovery as eating healthy and completing your treatment program. A multitude of research studies has confirmed the numerous and lasting benefits of exercise on both physical and mental well being. Exercising regularly enhances mood, reduces stress, helps maintain normal weight rates, promotes immune system functioning and even heightens sexual enjoyment. All of these components are important when combating cancer of any kind, as the more in control you feel of your body and mind, the more empowered you feel as you continue your exploration of live, love and happiness.

Many individuals experiencing chronic diseases find that performing yoga exercises greatly expands their sense of mindfulness and control while strengthening their body at the same time. Yoga is a specific type of exercise, which promotes relaxation, meditation techniques and stress reduction by concentrating on stretching, bending and gently extending muscles. According to the American Cancer Society's website "research has shown that yoga can be used to control physical functions such as blood pressure, heart rate, breathing, metabolism, body temperature, brain waves, and skin resistance. This can result in improved physical fitness, lower levels of stress, and increased feelings of relaxation and well-being."

While experiencing the side effects of cancer and its various treatments may cause you to feel less than sexy, performing yoga poses will definitely put an end to this "blah" feeling! Placing your body in a series of somewhat evocative poses and sensing that rush of passionate endorphin activity as it stimulates all areas of your body (and mind) is an excellent way to invigorate yourself and make you feel like there is nothing you can't accomplish. Meditating while doing yoga also encourages a sense of exhilaration as you master yoga poses and begin appreciate the smooth, sleek tautness of your muscles.

Whether you have been diagnosed with lung, bone or liver cancer, performing sexy yoga exercises, as well as any other exercise, is known to possibly increase the survival rate of cancer patients. Even older individuals who suffer from mesothelioma can benefit from participating in yoga exercises because of its ability to increase lung functioning, as well as that effervescent, sexy feeling!
